When retailing legend Neiman-Marcus opened their new store in Tampa, Florida, we had the pleasure of working with store-planning gurus Robert Young Associates.

Taking our cue from a rough sketch provided by the Dallas designers, American Burnish created an ocean-inspired eglomise design which moves in a graceful, continuous wave around one of the store's personal shopping spaces.

Using computer graphics and silk-screen technology, our waves curl with precision and elegance-their colors sparkling through crystal clear glass.

Modern technology also enabled us to work closely and efficiently via the internet with our collaborators across the nation: the Minnesota glass and showcase manufacturers, the Texas architect, and the Florida installer.

EGLOMISE is an ancient technique for hand-applying gold leaf, silver leaf, and paint to the reverse side of glass, which is then turned over and viewed from the front. For Neiman-Marcus, five different metal leaves create the pattern: moon gold, Arctic Blue-dyed silver, 18k gold, French caplain, and aluminum.
